Good Day
Isn't rain a mixed blessing in the desert?!
As you might expect the conditions on Spur Ranch Road are poor with the prolonged rain event we are currently having, and that is expected to continue into Monday.
While the road was in good condition after grading, the rain and traffic has reeked havoc with the road surface. The best advice is to avoid travel if you can do so. If you cannot, please slow down, not only for your safety and that of your neighbors, but to also preserve what road surface remains. Hard accelerating, and hard braking rut the road and disrupt the surface drainage of the road exacerbating the poor condition of the road.
As you might expect, we will plan to regrade the road next week when things begin to dry out. This regrade will likely pretty much deplete our treasury. As you can imagine, this is not the best position to be in as we head into winter season. If you have not made you contribution to support the maintenance of your road, we are pleased to accept these payments. If you would like to make an additional contribution to SRRA, we are also pleased to accept these. Finally if you would like to make an additional contribution to improve the road, we are accepting these as well. If we do not make improvements to the road, we can expect these conditions with each prolonged rain event. Additional base course was added between Junipero and Rosa Linda, and between Silver Saddle and Rancho San Lucas to correct poor road conditions earlier in the year. These improvements have stood up to traffic well and cost roughly $10/yard of road length.
Thank you again for your support, and again if you don't have to travel please don't, and if you must please reduce your speed.
